A VIEW FROM THE 20TH CENTURY

HomeA View From The 20th CenturyOct 19, 2007
My original idea in writing was to share with my children and their children, and now their children what it felt like to grow up in the previous century. Living in the SF Bay Area from the age of 2 tempered my views in many ways. I am an FDR Liberal, voting for the first time for Harry Truman in 1948 when I reached 21, and in every election since for a Democratic ticket. I am a reader who enjoys a variety of books and will share some of my favorites here. I am now a widow, having lost my husband of 64 years in 2009; he was 86. I do not live near most of my family, except for my 51 year old son and his 26 year old son who moved in with me when my husband died to help me. We are compatible and tolerant of each other, and it works. I have written since 2004, first on Yahoo 360 until Yahoo murdered it, then for a very short time on MASH, and with many others came here in 2006. To my friends who are still here I have been reading your posts and sometimes commenting, and many of you are connected with me on Facebook where I have a presence; I will be glad to be writing and reading here again. To new people who might be interested in my writing you are welcome.
